FAQ

1. On Durability: How resilient is papier-mâché against daily use?
Our pieces are handcrafted for durability. While they possess a delicate aesthetic, they are crafted to be robust and functional for everyday life. With mindful care—primarily by avoiding direct sunlight impact and moisture—they are designed to become enduring heirlooms.
2. On Water Resistance: Are your products waterproof?
No. Our standard finishes provide water-resistance, not waterproofing. They are ideal for dry goods, decorative storage, or as protective coasters. Contact with standing water should be avoided to preserve the integrity of the piece.
3. On Care & Cleaning: What is the proper way to clean my product?
Clean only with a soft, dry cloth. For occasional light cleaning, you may use a cloth lightly dampened with water, then immediately and thoroughly air-dry. Never submerge the product or use abrasive or chemical cleaners.
4. On Materials: Are the paints and finishes safe?
Absolutely. We use only non-toxic, high-quality lacquers and sealants. Every piece is safe for contact with household items and is created for use in your living space.
5. On Uniqueness: Since pieces are handmade, will mine look exactly like the photo?
It may not—and that is its virtue. Each piece is entirely unique, with subtle variations in form, texture, and painting. These characteristics are not defects but the signature of the human hand, guaranteeing that the art you own is one of a kind.
6. On Sustainability: What does "eco-sensible" mean in your process?
It is our core principle. We utilize recycled paper and natural, biodegradable binders. Our studio practice is designed to be near-zero waste, with all material off-cuts being repurposed, ensuring our craft respects the earth that inspires it.
7. On Gifting: Are your products suitable for gifts?
Without a doubt. A piece from Aranya Earthcraft is a gift of art and intention. Each item is presented in our signature sustainable packaging, ensuring it arrives ready for gifting as a meaningful and conscious present.
8. On Weight: How lightweight are the products in reality?
The inherent lightness of papier-mâché is one of its most remarkable features. Our pieces are surprisingly not heavy, making them easy to handle, ship with a lower carbon footprint, and hang as wall art without heavy-duty fixtures.
9. On Inspiration: Where do your designs originate?
Our collections are a dialogue with nature and narrative. We draw inspiration from the textures of the natural world and the rich tapestry of Indian folklore, translating organic beauty and timeless stories into tangible art for your home.
10. On Custom & Bulk Orders: Can I commission a custom piece or a large order?
We welcome the opportunity for collaboration. We accept both custom commissions and bulk orders for special events. Please contact us directly to initiate a consultation regarding your specific vision and requirements.
11. On Payments: What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major debit/credit cards, UPI, and net banking for a seamless checkout experience. To maintain operational efficiency, we do not offer Cash on Delivery (COD).
12. On Composition: What are the primary materials used in your work?
Our core materials are carefully selected for quality and sustainability: recycled paper, natural clay, Gum Arabica, water, and non-toxic lacquer and paint.
13. On Lead Times: How long does it take to create and ship an order?
As each piece is made to order, please allow 5-7 business days for crafting before your order is dispatched. You will receive a tracking notification once it is on its way.
14. On Returns & Exchanges: What is your policy on returns?
Due to the handmade and often custom nature of our work, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds. However, we are committed to your satisfaction and will gladly assist with exchanges or store credit for any item that arrives damaged. Please refer to our full Returns Policy for details.
15. On Restoration: Do you offer repairs for damaged items?
Yes. We stand behind our craftsmanship and offer a professional restoration service for our items that have sustained damage, such as chips or cracks, for a nominal fee. This allows us to extend the life of the art we create. Please contact us to discuss restoring your piece.
